Dog Obedience Training

From basic obedience up to competition level. Learn how to train your dogs the correct way. Handlers must be over 13 yrs and dogs over 4 months and fully vaccinated.

Busbys Bore Walk

When: 2nd Nov 2008

Where: Meet Robertson Rd Gates. Finishes Fox Studios.

Description:

Walk the above-ground route of Busbys Bore, the underground supply of early Sydney’s drinking water, with retired Sydney Water historian Jon Breen. Visit the source of the bore at Busbys Pond and the memorial cairn in Centennial Park. Includes an exclusive viewing of the shaft into Busbys Bore within Fox Studios.

Centennial Parklands Open Day

Come and help us celebrate the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust’s 25th Birthday (see event map).

From 10.00 am to 2.00 pm there will be a variety of activities for children to enjoy, including:

  • Taronga Zoomobile will be on-site for kids to enjoy (10.00 am – 2.00 pm).
  • Dinosaur Jumping Castle (free) for 3-10 yrs (10.00 am – 2.00 pm).
  • Pony Rides ($10 per ride), tickets available at our new Visitor Information Counter located at Centennial Parklands Dining.
  • Free face painting for kids at the mobile ranger station from 10.00 am to 10.40 am.
  • Interpretive Walk: Through the Pine Grove. Join Ranger Romayne collecting materials in the Pine Grove and then participate in a candle-making craft activity. Join the walk from 12.30pm – 1.00 pm and then Candle Making from 1.15 pm – 2.00 pm. Free activity, no bookings necessary.

For adults we are offering the following activities/tours:

  • Ted’s Tree Tour (10.45 am – 12.45 pm). Free activity, however places are limited. Reserve your spot by visiting the new Visitor Information Counter on the day.
  • Photography for Adults (11.00 am – 12.00 noon). Join professional photographer Chris Gleisner and learn some simple photography techniques. Only $5 per person! Tickets available on the day at the new Visitor Information Counter. Don’t forget to bring your own camera.
  • Busby’s Bore Walk (10.00 am – 12.00 noon). Tickets still available (Adults $15, Friends $12) – book now to secure your spot.

Littlies by the Lily Pond

Description:

Littlies by the Lily Pond - a new program

A special 5-week program for young children and pre-schoolers (ages 2 to 5 yrs).

Each session will focus on learning about different animals and plants that call the Park their home and includes a craft activity.

This is an opportunity for carers and preschoolers in the local community to get to know each other.

The program will run from 10.00 am – 11.00 am on Wednesday mornings for five consecutive weeks from November 5 – December 3 (ie: November 5, 12, 19, 26 and December 3).

You can book in for a single session ($10.50 per child or Friends $8.50) or for all five ($45 per child or Friends $36). Please note that bookings for this program will taken from Monday 13 October.

Children must be accompanied by parent/carers.

JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge

Marking its ninth year in Sydney, the 2008 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge is a 5.6 km team race open to employees of corporations, businesses and financial institutions. Race commences 6.30 pm. Please note that all roads and vehicle gates in Centennial Park will be closed on the day from 12.00noon.
